Getting started with Bigscreen on the new OCULUS QUEST 2
By Bigscreen Team • Issue #30 • View online

We are thrilled to see so many new Quest 2 users diving into virtual reality for the first time! Here’s an overview to help new users get started with Bigscreen.
1. Remote Desktop
If you have a VR-compatible Windows 10 PC, this feature lets you use any Windows applications in virtual reality in Bigscreen! Play PC games, browse the web, watch YouTube & Netflix, Zoom into some meetings, collaborate with your team, and more.
In December, we will be launching a major improvement to Remote Desktop! You can expect ultra-low latency streaming (10ms!) and input streaming. This will significantly improve usability and video quality!
2. Rent 3D Movies
Watching 3D movies in VR is a mindblowing experience! Browse through our Movie Rentals and watch the free 3D movie trailers yourself.
Starting at $3.99, movie tickets are available in 12 countries around the world. Prices and availability vary per country.
We’re working with movie studios to bring even more 3D movies to more countries (especially the United Kingdom) so keep an eye out for new movie announcements later this year.
3. Video Player
Want to watch your own video files? We have a built-in VR video player that you can watch with your friends! The video supports 2D and 3D movies (side-by-side 3D or over-under 3D) and it supports most of the common filetypes. To watch your own videos with your friends, everyone needs a VR headset and the video files on their own device.
The video player also supports Plex and other media server apps using the DLNA protocol. You can stream video files over your local network from your PC.
4. Watch Livestreams and free TV Channels
Browse through dozens of free TV channels playing 24/7! Boot up Pluto TV and Twitch livestreams with channels such as Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Doctor Who Classics, the James Bond 007 channel, and more!
Stay updated with the world news or watch some sports highlights. You can also dance to the sound of Tomorrowland or just relax to some chill lo-fi beats.
5. Attend Live Events
Major live events such as SpaceX rocket launches, Apple’s product keynotes, eSports events, conferences and more are streamed into Bigscreen. Find these events in the TV section!
6. Split Screens
In smaller 4-person rooms, multiple people can stream their desktop PC on the big screen and it will split accordingly. Quest users can use the Remote Desktop feature or use Oculus Link to turn the Quest 2 into a PC VR headset!
This enables insanely cool split-screen gaming and VR LAN parties. This feature works best with PC VR headsets and gaming PCs.

How to Teleport
We made teleporting easier and more intuitive on Oculus headsets. Similar to Oculus Home and other apps, push forward on your thumbstick to teleport!
